FORUM AT THE LIBRARY
Municipal Arborist David Jahn will bring his brand new EAB presentation to the Franklin Avenue Library. Using the acronym ‘EAB’, Mr. Jahn will coach residents to Educate, Activate, and Beware.
Educate: How do I know if I have an ash tree? How will I know if it has EAB? What are my options for managing the pest?
Activate: Know how to find a qualified arborist to assist you in assessing your ash tree(s) and prescribing a plan of action. Putting budget in place.
Beware: There are important timelines to manage EAB. Also, not all contractors will act in the best interest of the customer, so learn the pitfalls before you hire.
Come with your questions. Bring a branch sample if you need help with ash ID.
